OUR CURRICULUM

We at Eco Kids ELC implement an intentional, play based curriculum. Our educators observe children, create positive learning environments and facilitate and guide experiences for each child based on their developmental skills and needs and upon children’s strengths and emerging interests. We provide meaningful opportunities for children to explore, initiate, investigate, discover, interact, create, problem solve and engage in collaborative learning, enhancing academic skill and social and emotional development.

Positive attitudes towards learning and a willingness to explore and take appropriate risks are important lifelong attributes that we encourage by challenging and questioning children. Our programs are individuality appropriate as they recognise and respect that each child is a unique person.

We respect parents and families as their child's first, best teacher and encourage parents to discuss children’s achievements and share relevant home life information with educators and become involved in our programs and their development. 

We support the play pedagogy as described in the Australian, evidence based, Walker Learning Approach. Play based learning is also a strong idea in the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
